I worked at Verizon full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Good pay and benefits. They treat employees well and working conditions are very good. There products and services are very competitive and the company is financially stable and successful.

Cons

Landlines are dying off but wireless and business services are their strengths. If you are on the wireline side, you're probably going to see less job availability and smaller raises/bonuses.

Advice to Management

Keep kicking AT&T's butt. But don't take lightly the great job your employees are going.

I have been working at Verizon full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Better than average pay/benefits, has a Union to help work out disputes with management, and the work is interesting & challenging. Workers are generally treated as valued employees and respected by local management.

    Cons

Very understaffed. We are regularly expected to do more work & take on more responsibilities without a title or pay upgrade.

    Advice to Management

Upper management seems so very detached from the "hands on" work that allows our network to function and our company to stay in business. The so called "landline" network that all, yes all, even wireless calls, must use has only recently been noticed by this company again. Although I feel valued by local management, upper management only seems to notice us when we go out on strike, and then it's only to tell us how much they want to get rid of us.
