Pros

Verizon is a great company to work for. They offer lots of benefits, as well as great opportunities for advancement.

Cons

Sometimes they move you locations without a lot of notice, and expect you to just go along with it without any complaints.

Advice to Management

There is a big disconnect between in store and over the phone support, and it causes a lot of escalations with customers.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

You Can make killer commissions some months. There is a ton of training. Competitive environment, lots of new products. Good Team Morale base pay + commision

    Cons

I am soo tired. My legs and back kill me every night due to the intentional lack of chairs. Commissions fluctuate due to quotas that never seem to line up with our sales.

    Advice to Management

Give customers and salespeople seats. Fix the commission structure, there is no stabuility here, within a span of 5 months I made a 9k commission check and a $600

  2. "Good Company to have on your resume. Highly political and demanding environment."

Current Employee - Operations/Technology Manager in San Francisco, CA

    Pros

    - Good Pay (Especially the Shift pay for Engineers and Contractors)
    - Flexible working hours. No issues at all to work from home or to leave early
    - Nice Offices in San Francisco.
    - Good opportunity to learn and develop skills. Plenty of tools and technologies to play with.

    Cons

    - 100% Time tracking. You have to record every single minute of your day. Yes, this include your toilet visits. It's really, really that bad.
    - Very political due to a handful of managers. Promotions and opportunities are defined by personal relationships and not competence. This is very sad as some people are excellent but are purposely held back and will never progress in the company.
    - Constant cost savings. The company saves money by not buying paper towels and hand soap. Makes you wonder if you really work for a billion dollar company.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of some of the deadwood and negative old school mid-managers who is responsible for the ROC and the GSD. Plenty of talent and business opportunities are wasted due to an implemented management and service delivery theory that doesn't work. 100% Time-tracking and the aggressive outsourcing to Chennai would never have happened if the ROC would have been led by different people.

Introduce an employee reward program. Verizon as a company can afford paper towels and hand wipes. Buy these again.
