I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Veriozn Wireless have excellent benefits such as medical, dental and vision. Also the profit sharing is good and tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Takes a while for management to make changes submitted by front line reps. Change happens often which you are advised upfront. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

Advice to Management

Listen more to front line representatives.

    I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    1) Incredible benefits
    2) Access to the latest mobile technology
    3) Due to nationwide presence, ability to transfer almost anywhere in the country if there are matching positions
    4) Educated and (for the most part) professional co-workers

    Cons

    1) As with almost any retail environment, the work schedule is extremely tough if you have a family. Especially around holidays
    2) Push to get more business through the online store and through the indirect channel seems to be leading to a downsizing of retail opportunities and decrease in sales
    3) Retail channel being forced to send small business sales leads through the business channel which is hurting sales results
    4) Constant restructuring of departments over past couple of years has lead to a lot of disruptions and job loss in the retail channel

    Advice to Management

    Return the company back to atmosphere and feeling it had two or three years ago. Allow store managers to run their business. Stop with the micromanagement and help (not hurt) manager's ability to do what is best for the customers.
