I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company has stable growth and runs lean so, there is quite a bit a security. Opportunities are available to those who wish to live in medium to large cities.

    Cons

Heavy workload compared to other wirless companies and higher stress levels. Fewer oportunities in smaller communities.

    Advice to Management

Help first line Managers support the ideas in the credo.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hard working people. Access to capital. Solid brand perception. Leadership understands that selling smart phones is about to plateau and is actively and urgently looking for new growth engines.

    Cons

IT is stuck in 1993. Culture is like any large corporate environment, highly political and adverse to change. Ops finance, legal, and sourcing run the company and typically drill every project into the ground. It takes strong will and constant fighting to keep projects from getting diluted by bozos.

    Advice to Management

Either spin off new product development or uncouple it from BAU processes or you will be faced paying high price tags to acquire vertical solutions in order to stay relevant. The days of just being a partner aggregator are over. You are at the precipice to either drive the future or be picking up pennies left by others.
