I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

There are some really great things about this organization, the senior leadership truly has vision and a relentless pursuit of improving profitability, which has allowed them to really invest in what I feel is the best network in the country (Perhaps in the world). They embrace new technologies and truly try to create a culture of excellence.

    Cons

As with many organizations, there have been many negative changes to employee benefits and compensation over the last several years. Three key things have been, in my opinion, a major detraction from keeping employee morale where it needs to be. The loss of the long term incentive program for those under director level has created a higher level of turnover, the health insurance benefits have gone seriously downhill, and there is a serious lack of market performance understanding at the level of those who set quota (This goes for enterprise and the SMB market)

    Advice to Management

Really begin to inspect the details- Senior leadership has the right vision, but keep an eye on what's going on at the middle management level- make sure that the goals and targets are realistic to those groups that are directly impacted. In the relentless pursuit of profitability, when the organization is setting records in that category, think seriously about employee morale and the impact of lowering their commission structure/benefits- achieving bottom line profit at the expense of your employees will ultimately affect customer experience and long term viability in the market place.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Established company, good benefits. Opportunity to make a lot of money. Have an opportunity to stay on the cutting edge of technology.

    Cons

Opportunities seem to be given to individuals without merit. Sales are increasingly being pushed toward online, as with many retail positions.

    Advice to Management

Keep your promises and put more thought into major decisions.
