I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent medical benefits, upper level leadership will listen to your ideas. Direct supervisors will attempt to placate you. You are judged by your performance not your college degree. Results count, status and degress don't which is fair. Some of the supervisors are great and willing to coach you to do your best, some often act like you are burden. A supervisor's job is to coach and supervise not try to avoid working.

    Cons

Because of AHT average handling time, calls per hour metrics it is not possible to go to the bathroom without lowering your score. Many customers will swear and abuse you verbally but that is just part of the job. I do not take it personally. You can't move out of your cubible and must take breaks and lunch exactly as scheduled.Often supervisor are selected based on how they interview vs. how well they manage. Usually the people that would be the best supervisors do not apply. Often the most arrogant people apply. It is difficult to provide quality customer service with a timer on your computer.

    Advice to Management

Higher some humble quiet supervisors that are not constantly talking about themselves.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hands on with great products. Create your own style of selling.

    Cons

Harsh management. Not always there to teach you, but to bully you around enough to where you are hitting "store" quotas. Nothing is ever good enough for management and they will let you know.

    Advice to Management

Sales Reps are people too. Treat the sales team as if they are not bottom of the totem pole
