I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You get a Yearly bonus depending on how the company does. The company offers Flex time, Parental time, vacation and sick. They have the average company spiffs and have a cafe on site for food so you don't have to leave the building. The most enjoyable part of your job is the people you work with

    Cons

You are micro managed all the time and the rules change for every customer. You are expected to to sell, trouble shoot, make calls to current customers and businesses, up sell everything, and please EVERY customer. It's almost impossible to get a good shift. You start at 2pm-11pm and scheduling is based on seniority. After 2 and a half years I finally got a 9am-6pm Tue-Sat shift (count on your weekends being gone for a few years). Management talks to you like you are a child and always tells you what you are doing wrong never any good things that you are doing.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your team and back them up when they are rite.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits and pay, by far the best brand in the market.

    Cons

Any and every stat is tracked in the call center environment. It begins to feel like you are always doing something wrong. This doesn't change even up into management. As a supervisor you get treated the same but now it's from someone higher up the food chain.

Company has really lost their customer focus. It used to be about credo and culture, now it's all about the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Stop looking at numbers all the time. Go back to being centered on your customers and doing right by them. The bottom line will grow.
