I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Great benefits package, opportunity for advancement and thorough training on products and services. They offer monetary assistance to attend college.

Cons

Downsizing occurs often across the company. Outsourcing is growing and they are taking advantage of it. Learn as much as possible to make yourself more marketable.

Advice to Management

Improve cross developmental training to allow opportunities to work in other departments.

    Helping people learn about and increasing their use of technology

    Micro Management
    No work-life balance (that term disappeared from the lexicon)
    Negative motivation (threats)
    Inter department conflicts
    Company policies put first line employees on the hot seat multiple times every day

    Advice to Management

    Align Regional goals with Corporate goals.
    Recognize that some of your most valued employees in the eyes of your customers are not ranked high in the sales performance board.
