I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good benefits, competitive wages, good metric tools, company is extremely metric driven

Cons

No power to get things really done the way executive mgmt expects.

Advice to Management

If you expect a lot from the front line of retail (you do), give the mgmt power to get rid of people slowing them down.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Verizon compensates they're employees well. Employees are adequately trained

    Cons

Moving from one department of the company to another it can be difficult as you're at the mercy and limitations of those above you.

Politics can be a major part of career advancement

Some employees were over-qualified for their position and when wanting to move to a position that better suited they're expertise, it became more about how the employee interviewed and did not include enough discussion with that employees supervisor recommendation for the job or actual relevant work performance/ knowledge

    Advice to Management

Create better career advancement policies and better review of hiring decisions
