I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

Compensation was excellent and benefits were outstanding. The jobs were challenging and rewarding for most part. Initial training was excellent and thoroughly prepared you for job.

Cons

Lack of recognition for job well done. Good old boy network prevalent in area management and promotion opportunities. Lack of follow up and meeting of promises by upper management at times. A subtle discrimination against older experienced employees.

Advice to Management

Look more closely at some of you area leadership and have more skip level and listen to what the front lines are truly saying. Be aware of the value of experience in tenured workers.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay, benefits, retirement, helps pay for college courses if it cold be used for the business.

    Cons

Stress of quota that is highly difficult to reach every month.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees equally. Even if it means you have to treat the mediocre sales rep with the same respect as the amazing sales rep. Don't let the sales rep who make you all the money get whatever they want, including being un compliant and get away with it.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities, good training, some really smart people to work with. Excellent benefits including health care and 401k. Very good philanthropy program.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, bureaucracy, bureaucracy. Easy to get lost in all of the rules and process that is required to get things done. Company is huge so it's tough to really make a difference.
