I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Competitive salary with great benefits from day one on the job.
Very inclusive culture with lots of growth potential.
Company-issued cell phone that's usually one of the latest devices.
Ability to increase check with monthly commissions based on sales performance.

Cons

Commissions have gotten lower over the years.
Things change constantly which can be good or bad, depending on the individual.
Monthly quota fluctuations makes it hard to guarantee a steady commission check

    I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Benefits, 401k, Tuition Reimbursement, Customers, flexibility,pay. This is a great job if you like sales.

    Cons

    Unreasonable sales goals, lack of communication between management and front line. Turnover at a all time high, due to management. Verizon will suck the life out of you, then replace you.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to feedback from your frontline.

    I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits start on day one!
    Phone program for employees- Excellent!
    Fun environment
    Always updated on new phones and programs coming out
    Commission (when you make sales)
    Tuition Assistance-highest compared to other companies

    Cons

    -Micromanagement
    -Doesn't care about employees (personal lives)
    -Unprofessional co-workers (at times)
    -Training is so-so (depends on trainer)
    -Low pay- hourly
    -Not every call is a sale- customers call in to see if they can "get approved"
    -Not recognized by Management if you do well-they overlook it
    -Management does not help in resolving customer issues (that is what Managers are for)

    Advice to Management

    Spend more time on coaching and doing what you expect others to do- leading by example. Treat employees with respect. Trust your employees to get their jobs done, rather than micromanaging everyone.
