I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than a year)

Pros

One of the top companies to work for; particularly if your interest is in career development. VZW offers a multitude of programs to help further develop an individual's talents/skill sets. Nice to know when many companies are cutting back in the area of training and development!

Cons

Competitive candidate pool and could be a challenge to initially gain entry into this company

    Pros

The benefits are ok, wonderful people to work with. Cutting edge products and technology and outstanding training.

    Cons

Not a family friendly company to work for if you are in a call center. You will not have a gurantee of having the days off or vacation days that you want. Your schedule and teams change every 6 months. If you want to work days with weekends off you will be waiting a long time. The job environment is very stressful with frequent changes. You will encounter good customers and some that are completely irate - you have to have thick skin for this job!

    Advice to Management

Give your call center employees a break. We work hard, and sometimes do not feel appreciated. Also before a change is made that affects customers such as new fees, changing upgrade dates to 2 years, or getting rid of unlimited data, think about how the employees on the front line have to deal with it. Not every customer will buy the lame positioning statements, and there's no way to sugar coat a change that makes it harder for the customer to do business with the company.

I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

benefits, work relationships, opportunity to sell the best product in the industry

    Cons

comp plan restructure designed to push the highest profit for the company while putting the least in the reps pockets, slave driver mentality, no life outside of work whatsoever.

    Advice to Management

don't let the abuse from upper management roll down to your front line in the stores, morale is at an all time low and threatening peoples jobs does not help anything.
