I have been working at Verizon Wireless full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

I work 40 hours/week + overtime pay, but usually don't have to work overtime. Education, Verizon benefits and tuition help. Training courses and classes paid for (as well as travel expenses).

Cons

Can require a lot of time depending on the project and expectations, but this is not very often.

Advice to Management

Keep it up, your employees are happy, I am anyways.

"Good job if you like decent starting pay and benefits. Bad job if you expect opportunity for advancement."

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They had OK pay and benefits. My co-workers were generally very nice people and the company at least try to keep a faux upbeat atmosphere.

    Cons

There are to many to list. No advancement opportunity unless you consider sitting on the phones and talking to customers advancement. The only positions available are lateral, they try to give you the illusion that you could work you're way up the ladder but the only way you are going to do anything above customer service is get a BA and then spend years waiting for somebody to quit. This is one of the reason they have a now hiring sign permanently affixed to the side of the building.
The environment is extremely stressful. You are rated on multiple things on every call and you also get three surveys a day. Anything under the rating of 7 and you fail, the company seems to think giving you a 30% to succeed is fair.
The working atmosphere is extremely negative. Every aspect of your job is micromanaged, they give you almost no time on the phones and at least once a week you meet with your supervisor to evaluate your work and it doesn't matter how good you are doing they will always find something wrong.
On top of the customers screaming at you the normal policy the supervisors use to "motivate" you is to use passive aggressive threats because making an employee fear for their job seems to be the new motivation. I have seen employees break down and cry because of the stress.
There is no recognition, no matter how long you work there. Almost every supervisor and AD that I worked with carried a condescending attitude to make sure that it was clear you were a worker and that they were in charge. There was no questioning them.
The worst part of the job was the conflicting information that you were expected to deliver to the customers, like explaining that for more money you could not have your unlimited data back but for a penny more you could have 2gb, or that it was a better deal to pay full price for a phone and just pay installment even though you would have to pay the full amount if you cancelled before two years.
If you enjoy an atmosphere where you are treated like a child and talked down to on a daily basis then go for it. Otherwise steer clear.

    Advice to Management

Try creating an atmosphere that doesn't reward negative behavior
