I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The health benefits and on the job training are best in the industry. They company is always trying to come up with new products and ways to make things better for the customer. Discounts on your monthly service and vacation time. The people I worked with were great less upper management.

    Cons

It can become a game of who knows who when it comes to promotions. The company went from having sales, customer service, and technicians to just sales in my region. By the end I was essentially performing three positions for the same rate as if I was only doing only sales. Quota could be hit or miss for the most part and if you didn't hit the key metrics you were sure to hear about it and have someone micromanage you for the next month.

    Advice to Management

If employee development is so important why don't you ensure that whomever is in charge of running the district actually looks at how the stores are being run. If there is someone there who is exceeding quota, has tenure, and provides excellent customer service why would you not want to see them move up. Saying you want to see someone grow within the organization and actually implementing a plan to help that person are two different things.
