    Pros

Competitive salaries and great benefits. Opportunity for growth. Good leadership. Tuition reimbursement program.

    Cons

Offices are always in suburban areas - typically 40+ minutes outside of the nearest large city. Only a con for people who prefer city living.

I worked at Verizon Wireless full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Stellar brand name means the product was easy to sell.

    Cons

Unprofessional working conditions due to inept and pedestrian talent in almost all levels of leadership. The atmosphere at Verizon Wireless is unfortunately petty, demoralizing and stifling. Couple this with the fact that the competition sounded beat them to M2M and solutions space and you have a recipe for more big troubles ahead while they are trying to consume and figure out how to pay for the $130 billion acquisition of Vodafone. While other carriers are going for solutions VZW is doubling down on becoming the next Circuit City/Best Buy. Very Sad.

    Advice to Management

Root out the petty poor unimaginative leaders who can only feel empowered by demoralizing and intimidating employees into compulsory respect. You are a lawsuit waiting to happen and I have heard many BSMs and ADs stating serious concerns about what they are being forced to do from Director up to Marnie. The actions are vicious, personal and I know it is a matter of time before this organizes against you and becomes an overwhelming burden on your company. Many of these front line leaders fear their own financial wellbeing is at stake since they can and likely will be culpable as per management training. I can't ever recall working in a more unprofessional, hostile, viscous and demoralizing environment.
