Pros

Standing desk, you can listen to music at work, the work is fairly easy, really nothing else at all

Cons

Depressing atmosphere: The very first thing I noticed was the dark cloud that seemed to hang over this place. The dead look in everyone's eyes and lack of human interaction was incredibly telling of the company's "culture." Blank walls, no desk decorations, complete silence for hours (even in the break room) -- this place is your stereotypical soulless office straight out of a movie. Many previous reviews claimed that the pros were great coworkers, but they must have all quit because everyone left behind is bitter, unhelpful, and severely lacking personality. Abysmal pay: They will lowball your wage and refuse to pay you more. Don't even bother asking for a raise because you won't get one despite relentlessly being assigned more and more work. If you push for a raise, you will start being seen as a "problem," which results in even worse treatment from management. Hilarious anecdote: The executives held some kind of company-wide meeting to let us know how great we were doing; the business was expanding, profit booming, etc. They later sent out an FAQ in which they answered a question about how the company's success will affect wages with: "It won't :)!" Nearly no training: Fully expect to train yourself if you're unfortunate enough to get hired here. I was able to shadow someone for a week before I was sent off to figure everything else out on my own. The person training me made it abundantly clear that they didn't want to continue helping me after that week and made a fuss whenever I asked additional questions. Higher-ups and Micromanagers: The managers and higher-ups are probably the worst part about this place. I can only speak for my department, but the supervisor I had had absolutely no idea how to do anything except go around and monitor what everyone was doing in the weak guise of friendly conversation. They were creepy in an uncanny valley way, as they acted like a robot who was trying too hard to appear human. Regarding the higher-ups, they were too good to come into the office to be around hourly workers and had the privilege of working from home. I'm convinced they don't actually do anything because the only indication of work I ever saw from one was in the form of a desultory presentation given over Microsoft Teams. But in the rare event that these higher-ups did show their face in the office, the supervisors adopted a very bizarre, authoritative attitude over dress code, phone use, and desk appearance (only allowed your computer and a mug on our desks). Even worse, having to witness your supervisors' obscene bootlicking during these visits. No sick time and little PTO: You accumulate two weeks of PTO per year, which accrues every two weeks, so you aren't able to use it when you need it, such as when you are sick or have an emergency. If you call out sick, be prepared to be guilt-tripped about the office being "understaffed" and pressured to come back before you're healthy. Beware if you are an at-risk or immunocompromised person because no safety measures are in place in the event of a COVID exposure. If you have COVID or have been exposed, you are still fully expected to come into the office. I had gotten sick at this office more times than I have in the past decade, and I'm a very healthy individual. Old and isolated building: While everyone's jobs are entirely possible to perform in a remote setting, you are still forced to commute to the office, which sits in the middle of nowhere. The building is old and quickly deteriorating, but Vervent insists on doing as little maintenance on it as possible. Be prepared to either shiver and freeze on one side of the office or play a hyperrealistic game of Hell Simulator on the other side. The power frequently goes out, the ice maker was broken for months, and plumbing is a constant issue. Always pack any food you would like because there isn't any restaurant or market anywhere nearby. Also, if you are in need of feminine hygiene products, you must bring your own because the company does not and will not provide them to employees.

Pros

- Quarterly Bonus - can choose to be hybrid or remote

Cons

- Lack of clearly defined processes or best practices - HR is very old fashioned: lower pay, minimal pay increase, no paid paternity/maternity leave while execs get treated like royalty - They will give you laptop/computer that are 6 years old, making it impossible to do your job day to day. - the company seems to have a bad rep amongst other employers when applying for new jobs. They might NOT want to see that you’ve worked here for a long time just fyi.
