    Pros

Feel good about serving veterans who need it.
Work with great people (some not all)
Pay is okay when compared with duties performed.
Time off is better than most companies.

    Cons

Leadership is disconnected from the mission.
Upper Management needs a reality check on what is really going on.
Employees are treated like they are disposable.
Most employees are not competent to do the job that they receive over $50,000 a year to do.
Veterans who are not competent receive preference over others who are qualified.

    Advice to Management

Be consistent with your decision. Make employees feel that they are not disposable. Most high performing employees choose to work for the government and almost all of them have options to work elsewhere - Even in this tough economy. Take care of non-performers just like you would do if you didn't like the person. Just cause a person is "nice" but incompetent to do the job, should also be terminated.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

The VBA offers the opportunity to advance quickly and good pay starting off. They also offer a very nice benefits package.

    Cons

The facilities are clean but very austere. The work can be extremely monotonous and you will be clock watched on your few breaks.

    Advice to Management

This is a very impersonal place to work and any attempt at camaraderie seems squashed. Also, it is important to steadily move through the enormous work load here, but the over emphasis on the endless work to be done seems bad for morale.
