Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Viacom Media Networks full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Summer Fridays, Free Soda, Cafeteria

Cons

If you are not part of a clique you will not get promoted (basically they want you to kiss ass)
They have VP's with HS Diplomas and do not know how to manage people. (if you have a college degree, you are considered a threat)
So many employees complained to HR about race, age, gender discrimination but their complaints were swept under the rug.

Advice to Management

After hard work and dedication to the company, you layoff talented people who bring in fresh ideas and keep idiots who know nothing about the job. They only know how to kiss ass and keep their manager happy by running to buy them coffee and donuts.

    Pros

    Fun culture and Summer Fridays

    Cons

does not promote mobility between departments and few opportunities for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Develop your team. Keep up on training to stay on top of reporting and finance procedures. Analysts should NOT be more analytically than management.

I have been working at Viacom Media Networks as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, lots of time for joking around and getting to know coworkers. Fun projects. Shoot opportunities. Meet tons of people.

    Cons

Jobs tend to be narrow. Some days there is not much to do. If you're not in with the right people, moving up can be very difficult.
