Pros

Associate discounts.
Create lasting friendships.
Gain experience in the field.
Opportunity to grow with company.

Cons

Retail hours.
Customer is always right.

Advice to Management

Retail is an industry that puts associates through a lot, and I think raises for associates should be considered more often.

I worked at Victoria's Secret as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Associate discounts/"gratis"-es; can be fun and enjoyable; great chance to "up" your customer service skills as SA's MUST be able to communicate to customers in order to get what he or she needs/wants; superior values in terms of wanting to uphold a greater standard of service towards their customers.

    Cons

Depending on the location, management can be poor; hourly wages can be low for the work you do; poor New Hire training methods; you may get low hours if you are not considered a "core" associate; poor benefits if you are a permanent part-timer and or a seasonal associate.

    Advice to Management

My store management showed a lack of professionalism and courtesy that could easily be fixed. Also, if New Hire training could be re-assessed and be more "hands-on", I think a lot more SA/Cash Wrap associates won't look/sound as lost!
