I worked at Virginia Tech part-time

Pros

Higher starting wage, money given for free lunch, good managers, training and advancement opportunities, stable schedule and weekends off (usually)

Cons

No benefits unless salaried, hard to get full time hours, must only eat food provided by the establishment, heavy customer traffic, repetitive tasks, upper management will always prioritize students (employees and customers) over wage and salary workers.

Great place to do graduate research especially in structural engineering. The structural engineering laboratory is very well equipped.
    Helpful administrative staff.

    Cons

The graduate student intake is increasing on a yearly basis. Hence, more competitions for the GRA and GTA positions.
