Good Pay and good benefits but they only care about the customer not employees

Cons

No chance for advancement. If you work for the company you will not be promoted they always get there promotions from outside the company.

Advice to Management

promote the best employees regardless of experience.

I worked at Visa Inc. as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Nice buildings, nice cafeteria on-site.

    Cons

Not enough parking since the SF closure. Contractors are treated like 2nd-class citizens. Had to work over-time without getting paid for it. Unethical business leaders should be monitored.

    Advice to Management

Stay on top of your Business Leaders' activities and how they treat contractors. Over-time without pay is illegal. Don't have contractors participate in company events and wait till the event is nearly over and tell them they can't participate (contests, department events, etc.) or win in the department competitions.

I worked at Visa Inc. full-time

    Pros

Visa's got one of the most recognized brand names in the world, and a great reputation for network/financial reliability and performance. This accomplishment is founded on the shoulders of a great many individuals (several still with the firm), who have been with the company for 10, 15 or 20+ years. The people who work at Visa are highly educated, interesting and ethical people.

    Cons

Simply put, it was a rough place to work. Most of the people I worked with were significantly underemployed - i.e., a lot of senior level folks with fairly junior responsibilities. Unless you're with the product organization, the opportunities to advance are slim/limited.

    Advice to Management

You've got a 10 year effort ahead of you to rebuild a culture once known as innovative, back into an innovative mindset. I hope you can do it. You have the people and the brand reputation to do it.
