I have been working at Vistaprint full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

- Loads of data to analyse in SQL and SAS;
- It's about real people and real products (as opposed to investment banking);
- Management is open to suggestions for projects;
- Relaxed yet hard-working atmosphere;
- Everyone is both smart and friendly;
- Any change that occurs is always for the better --- it makes you dynamic, flexible and exposed to more exciting projects, whilst streamlining current processes at the same time;
- Career progression is encouraged and actively managed.

Cons

- Not much software development within analytics --- it's all analysis in SQL, SAS and Excel. Would be cool to build some web apps. Having said that, there are other departments that do this, so this isn't really a con.

There aren't any downsides to working here, unless you don't like sunshine. Or free soda.

    I worked at Vistaprint full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Decent salary and decent benefits, compared to the average Spanish market
    - People (especially at the lowest levels) are very nice and very smart
    - Office is a couple of blocks from the beach

    Cons

    - What is stated in the other reviews for the Software Engineering department is absolutely correct
    - No opportunities at all to grow professionally
    - Daily work is based on old, buggy, untested, huge legacy code base
    - No real efforts are put to improve the development processes
    - No encouragement to innovate, in any aspect
    - Working always throughout remote collaboration, which is carried out in a very obsolete, error-prone and rather irritating way
    - Since the last years there is a constant big flow of people leaving the company, either because they are deeply unsatisfied (after a very short time), or because they get fired (not always with a really good reason but rather because of company structural/strategic changes)

    Advice to Management

    The situation is too involuted and embraces too many aspects\big problems to think about a real solution for improving the work environment.
