I worked at Vitamin World full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Discount on vitamins, however I still take GNC for quality myself

    Cons

Corporate never returns calls, unless somethings wrong no resolution to issues. Staff and Managers always expected to "do more" for less not even a Thanks. Been without a decent DM for months
overpriced! Cant sell a bottle of vitamins for 30.00 bucks, no matter how your "sales pitch" makes them sound, can get better ones at GNC for 1/2 the price

    Advice to Management

Hire a Area Manager been without a decent one for months. Need a recruiter that takes job seriously have heard from many refereed candidates they don't get calls back. Give your managers a break seriously work life balance is a joke, do extra get 0 in return.

I have been working at Vitamin World full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good commission structure
    - They have an established training process that DOES work
    - Customers are usually great
    - Hours can be flexible
    - District managers ARE willing to listen
    - Corporate visits can be pleasant, not terrifying

    Cons

-It is commission, which means if your coworkers or boss is a jerk, they will steal or try to steal your sales.
    - Dress code requires white dress shirts which is fine, but you have to wear it while stocking shelves etc, which gets absolutely filthy.
    - If you don't know nutrition already, and aren't a fast learner I think it would be a very hard job.
    - If you get bad shifts, you make less money

    Advice to Management

I enjoyed working there. I liked my customers, I liked my coworkers, I liked the product a lot. I would suggest paying a bit more attention to have shifts are assigned. I worked: thanksgiving's midnight opening, Christmas Eve and EVERY singly changeover/price change because my manager didn't want to do it. I also worked in a store where the manager never worked closing shift because his wife worked 9-5. Things like that hurt morale.
