    Pros

No long holiday hours. Great discount. Elegant store. Great merchandise. Sales rounders are amazing! Clean Store with great customer service. Good starting pay for a retail environment. Depending on the department it can be a fun experience and the store is all about a good customer experience, just depends where you land.

    Cons

Management very inexperienced. Department managers are too mixed into the team. There are favorites and it makes for a negative team experience. Gossipy environment. Floor managers are too removed from the departments that they manage and don't spend enough time out on the floor to help when there's a customer overload. The protocol is "call for help" but by the time they show up the customers are already... impatient and the fallout goes back to the sales associate. Department managers are often in their offices during peak work hours instead of out on the floor. Store manager is professional and results oriented but too often unseen. Weeks can go buy without even seeing the store manager-too removed. Once assigned to a specific department it is impossible to switch especially if your sales are consistently high so burn out occurs. The scheduling tool is a mess and can schedule over unavailable time. Too much manual fixing of the automated scheduling system, bogs down management.

    Advice to Management

Floor managers need to get out on the floor. Don't hole up in the offices. During peak times, pitch in. Set the example and don't wait to be asked. Department managers need to remove themselves from gossip and set a positive environment. Say hello when employees arrive and acknowledge. Make it a place where associates want to stay. Department managers need to have a pleasant personality with team members as... well as customers. It is more of a façade to the customer and something totally different for the associates. Department managers are too stressed.
