Pros

Great Benefits.
Company Car.
Treats there employees well!!
Great training.

Cons

Goals get higher every year wich makes it more unrealistic for reps to make there goals.
Low base commision.
Management needs to realize that everybodies territory is not the same.
No bonus in pay.
Commision is horrible!
Northeast Region for company is going downhill.

Management needs to realize that everybodies territory is not the same.

    Pros

    There are great people who work at Grainger, good benefits, and good options for stocks.

    Cons

    It's difficult to advance with Grainger from middle management...if you're looking to rise to the top or if you see a position that you want to transfer to, the politics of doing so take over the process. This employer looks less for fitting skills and talent to position than to fitting positions to who the leadership wants to promote based on friendship.

    Advice to Management

    Talent development...you have the program, but you need ALL of your DBSMs on board with it, just as you have them on board with CI and LEAN

    Pros

    Good benefits, unique profit sharing plan.

    Cons

    "Virtualization" means that there is little accountability from management. Nobody in management seems to accept responsibility for anything, its always someone else's job or "out of scope"

    Advice to Management

    Get your managers back to managing people, not so busy with their side projects that review time becomes more of an exercise in who can sling the most BS effectively because the CSM has no idea what is going on with the team.
