I have been working at W.W. Grainger full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great pay and benefits by Grainger. Leadership is consistant and has experience in the MRO marketplace. They are great communicators and will spend money to train you and improve your skills. They have decent bonus programs and a great profit sharring program as well.

Cons

Cons are consistant with any large organization. A lot od red tape. often difficult to get to the right desision maker because many jobs seem to overlap. If you are a field based emplpyee you may have to work harder to get assistance.

Advice to Management

Continue to beat the competition by investing in the company. Look deep into the aqusitions that have been made and ensure that they are assimited properly into the organization.

I have been working at W.W. Grainger full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits with attractive profit sharing program

    Cons

24/7 with a lot of paperwork. You spend more time on computer than face to face with your customers. Weekend Paperwork is tedious, redundant and consuming.

    Advice to Management

Too Top Heavy - Too many managers - Too much micro-management - Too much redundancy in paperwork. Too little respect for tenured employees.
