    Pros

The company is boutique so you get plenty of options to closely interact with clients and form relationships. No better place to get numb to the workplace abuse common in the entertainment industry. Sets you up for incredible attention to detail in future positions. Annett Wolf, the company's founding partner, is a great role model, expects a lot but is very fair.

    Cons

There is no effort to inspire entry-level employees, no room for growth until you have been in an assistant position for at least 2.5 years. Absolutely no work/life balance for entry-level employees. Minuscule errors result in tear-jerking public tear downs by upper management. The overall experience and work environment was hostile and catty.

    Advice to Management

Give hard-working entry-level workers an opportunity for growth based on merit, rather than the time they sit in a chair. Make an effort to inspire great work through encouragement and constructive criticism, rather than trying to terrify workers into performing.

I have been working at WKT Public Relations full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Lots of freebies and swag to take home.

    Cons

Assistants treated very poorly and many are fired for miniscule mistakes. I was hired with a relevant bachelor's degree, worked at the company for 1.5 years and can't say I learned much about the world of personal publicity. In fact, when I specifically asked for learning opportunities I was shut down. It felt more like working in a sorority where people were judged by their looks and ability to be "gophers" versus critical thinking skills, willingness to learn, and work ethic. Not a positive or team-like environment but rather incredibly fake and phony.

    Advice to Management

You are founded by women, and your company is comprised of mainly women. Support young working women. Encourage, mentor, and give them relevant meaningful work and you might just strengthen your company after all. Be positive. Read books like The Progress Principal, Lean In, and Switch. Let people make mistakes;it's one of the best ways to learn. Assume good faith: most people aren't actually trying to make your life difficult. If nothing else, simply treat the human beings you bring in with respect.
