Depending on which product and team you're working on, the culture can either be really supportive or downright dirty. I had a generally good experience with the culture because my team in particular was terrific and luckily I was protected from a lot of drama. However, I did have exposure to other teams where people were frantic, talking over one another and disrespectful. I was fortunate to land on such a great team and yet I also understand not everyone there was not so lucky.
Cons
Walgreens' tech organization is poorly operated and inefficient. There are plenty of duplicative and contradicting products that we are expected to launch and maintain. The most frustrating part is that these initiatives come top-down from leadership. It can be incredibly difficult, and frankly morale depleting, to implement products and features that needlessly complicate the user experience. Leadership has wasted an incredible amount of resources on tech because they don't understand their own tech product portfolio. Most importantly, this places undue burden on Walgreens customers and team members. The tech product portfolio is absolutely bloated and the digital experience needs to be reviewed for a proper consolidation and strategic alignment.
