They really care about the employees and the community

Advice to Management

turn around shifts can make people tired which could lead to early burn out.

I have been working at Walgreens as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Okay pharmacy system sometimes, open long enough for me to work a decent amount of hours outside of classtime

    Cons

Never enough staff, keep adding pointless items to the daily checklist which used to be non-existent. This is supposed to improve patient care, but adequate time with each patient (which means adequate staff) would improve patient care. Having two drive through lanes is not conducive to counseling patients on medications, especially when they pick up devices or 18 prescriptions at a time. No time to train new employees so high employee turnover. Though pharmacy system may seem more intuitive than others, there are all sorts of shortcuts and backways to bill and process prescriptions, I'd rather have a simpler system. I am pursuing careers with other companies. Walgreens never seemed to appreciate me because I'm not a full time employee, but now that I'm graduating they won't leave me alone in hopes of hiring me as a pharmacist. Not going to happen. If it weren't for my pharmacy manager and need for money, I'd be out of here already.

    Advice to Management

Show more interest in your interns, that way you might have a chance of retaining them after graduation.
