I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Had a great group of people to work with, management was approachable if there were any issues. Benefits and employee stock options.

    Cons

Restructure of positions and salary cap begging in 2012. After 5 years I was not going to make any more than I was already making.

    Advice to Management

Hire people who are committed to working hard to promote this company and not someone who is your buddy. Qualified employees were often overlooked for promotions.

  2. "Great company to work for, except for any special requests from upper management will surely be denied."

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Pushes their pharmacists to assume a more clinical role instead of being the average "pill pusher"
    Plenty of OT if desired
Making many advances in retail pharmacy

    Cons

Impossible to get vacations/time off approved
Very short staffed at some locations
New hires don't get enough training

    Advice to Management

With the abundance of PRN pharmacists out there, it would be great to be able to get some vacation time approved instead of having every single day of the year closed off. Also, it would be great to re-adjust the budget so that we can get a mid-shift pharmacists in ALL stores that average over 500 scripts a day.
