I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 10 years)

Pros

It is a big and stable company. Many nice DBA coworkers work together to share technology. DBA technical skills grow fast by doing full life cycle project.

Cons

Some DBA positions are very stressful.

I worked at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits as a MGT trainee (positions have changed since) were nice.

    Cons

Everything. You're afraid of messing up because you get blamed for what goes wrong in your store. If you have any issues you get bumped to night shift and usually you have the "crappy" night crew because the morning shift is usually your strongest crew. Only when I transferred to my last store did I enjoy where I worked. Everyone worked hard and together and the crews were split evenly.

    Advice to Management

Be fair to all. Split crews evenly. Listen to your employees because they know what's going on.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Comprehensive benefits. Locations across the United States.

    Cons

High employee contribution for benefits, expected to be available 365 days a year, may have to work 3rd shift in 24 hour stores, no set schedules, very demanding expectations, no tuition reimbursement.

    Advice to Management

This is a company where people will work until they find better career opportunities.
