I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

They offer great insurance, profit sharing, stock options, pto, and comparable rates of pay.

Cons

they do NOT give raises based on productivity- they give one yearly raise, a set price across the board, therefore giving no incentive to do better and the ones who don't do their job get paid as much as those who carry the weight. They also only hire college students or degreed people for Mgmt.

Advice to Management

Return to the age of paying the employee who wishes to achieve greater expectations and sharing the wealth with those employees. Also, try promoting those of us to Mgmt. who are knowledgeable about retail and public relations. College students are not always your best and only choice.

I have been working at Walgreens full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fairly decent benefits. "Some" of the folks you work with are great. Discounts for employees.

    Cons

Tags. Little tags that come down and then go up again every week. Most people do not read them. They are a waste of time and huge money. Put a price on it and get on with business. Same with the "card" crap. If they told you everything they expected of you when they hire you, no one would take the job.

    Advice to Management

Do away with tags, the card, and the monthly books. Everything in the weekly flyer. You'll save money and give employees time to do all that you expect. Get the graft out of management and most of this would go away. Pay your employees, (non-management) a decent wage and they will give you more.

I worked at Walgreens part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good pay, flexible scheduling, good employee discounts, fast paced with out much downtime, good advancement opportunities, however I had to turn them down due to school commitments.

    Cons

Supervisor was very demanding, perfection was simply not good enough, can be understaffed at times

    Advice to Management

Hire more PT help to alleviate understaffing, other than that this is a very rewarding place to work.
