I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

No shift is ever the same. Work with awesome people who make the shift go by faster. Opportunities to do different things like run a cash register, help answer the store phone, stock, zone, and bin.

Cons

Must be flexible with availability in order to get as many hours as possible. Salary is not so great. Not many opportunities for full-time work. It can be stressful working with the public day in and day out. It can get crazy when you are needed in two different places at once.

Advice to Management

Listen to the associates! Without associates, Walmart would be nothing. The associates are the frontline people. The associates know what is going on within the stores. Not a great deal of effective communication between Home Office and the stores.

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy, climate controlled, and very easy to get along with supervisors. I have got to say, it made a good first job. The supervisors weren't mean, the conditions were pretty good, and the job wasn't really hard.

    Cons

Schedule flexibility, shipping/receiving, and parking lot duty. Also the few long timers there that definitely seemed pretty determined to have it their way or the highway, even if a higher manager said otherwise.

    Advice to Management

When someone says they aren't available (say, due to class), don't give them the runaround on their schedule.
