I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Once you hit the three month marker, you receive a discount card for certain items at 15% off. After you've hit the yearly mark, you can get a raise of not more than 40 cents and health insurance. There are some nice people there, but they are hard to come by.

Cons

The management at Wal-Mart sucks!! They do not communicate efficiently with each other, which is something that you absolutely need in a big retail environment. If you are a floor working, you will have 3 tiers of management above your head, so if you do something wrong, three people will most likely come and yell at you.

Advice to Management

Communication, communication, communication. Communicate nicely with the floor workers, communicate with your peers, and communicate with the customers. No use making everyone feel bad just cause you can.

    Pros

I worked with a friend during the overnight shift. It was fun doing some remodel stuff, and the employees were very interesting. It was a good life experience.

    Cons

They have a bunch of stupid rules that are designed to make sure they are never liable. The management is constantly making bad decisions that hamper the employees productivity.

    Advice to Management
