I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Its a good environment and we have a lot of fun at work its not all just work. We are very quick because its fun to have a challenge to see who can scan the most in an hour.

Cons

The only problem i have is not getting to spend much time with my family. It makes it worth it when i get my days off.

Advice to Management

Make sure everyone is on the same page and not to have one manger to tell u one thing and another to tell you different.

I have been working at Walmart full-time

    Pros

Benefits, growth potential, stable company not in danger of collapsing in this current economy

    Cons

Corporate driven programs create a very rigid and regimented environment which tend to forget we are dealing with people who don't always fit into the "correct" mold. Being held to scorecard standards which are designed to be a snapshot of opportunities within the store are brandished as a measure of personal performance on factors out of management's singluar control.

    Advice to Management

Need to remember we are dealing with real associates, many of whom do not understand the reasoning for certain policies and programs. Many are only high school educated associates simply trying to provide for their families. How their actions impact OPI standards or bin accuracy are lost on them. Not only do they not understand, they don't care to either, which makes achieving corporate goals more challenging from a management perspective.
