I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Walmart Canada has a strong plan to make things work is a smooth manner. Fantastic benefits, and industry standard hourly wages. They work hard to keep their staff happy and employed, and allow feedback on things that are working and not working for the staff.

Cons

If the management team isn't strong enough, the staff can walk all over them, causing the whole store to suffer, particularly the strong staff members who love the company and how it's supposed to run. Good staff will become discouraged and quit after having to constantly clean up after, and do other jobs that are supposed to be done by others.
Walmart Canada's three strike rule can cause bad employees to be kept too long.

Advice to Management

Be strong and fair to your employees. Even though generation x is handled differently than others, they should still be held accountable for the job they are expected to do.

the work i do i like i have always liked fashion, there is many dept for everyone, a large selection on most items

    Cons

its disgusting how much product is thrown out hundreds of thousands of dollars in clothing and ect food understandable when expired, i do not believe it is family oriented anymore all we are is a number in a line up, the open door policy is crap you talk to an assistant or manager and the whole freaking store knows, the pay is crap why work at walmart for minimum wage when i can go to mcdonalds and make 17$ starting wage, i recently got pregnant and i have a alot of health issues as it is but it was my familys choice to have another choice and the manager asked me what the hell i was thinking and i was stupid for getting into it, im only staying there till the baby is born then i am done! one more thing the sexism is ridiculous
