I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

It really all comes down to the job that you have and whether the other employees working there are fun to work with. I had a positive experience. The management at my store were mostly good to work for, and the other associates were good as well.

Cons

The customers are the only downside, which I think it true in all retail jobs. Some people just feel entitled, especially in northwest Indiana.

Advice to Management

Try to listen more to your employees. Sometimes, management gets to concerned with the bottom line and dealing with their superiors and all of the directives coming from corporate that they forget to listen to the ideas and advice from the hourly associates.

    Advice to Management

Know who you hire. Just because your are in upper-management does not mean that you can walk over people or belittle those that work under you. Make sure that your employees feel appreciated and enjoys there job. Be open-minded when it comes to people being late or missing days with a legitimate excuse.
