I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

Walmart has good benefits packages, stock investments, flexible hours, and job advancement opportunities.

Cons

The rate of pay could be better.

Advice to Management

Improve salary for workers, and stress the importance of store cleanliness and associate responsibilities.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I was offered a slightly higher salary because I was in university vs high school. Fellow cashiers were very willing to switch shifts to help each other out.

    Cons

Unlike floor workers, cashiers' breaks are scheduled for specific times to avoid everyone taking their break at the same time, however CSMs would often change the schedules to the point where they were unreasonable. For a 5-hour shift, management would schedule breaks roughly half way into the shift but CSMs would often send us on break after being there for only 45 minutes leaving us with 4 hours of straight work.

    Advice to Management

Reduce the freedom of the CSMs to change schedules

I worked at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    major company, 10% discount
There's very little good to say about Wal-mart. It's a major corporation that takes advantage of slave labour in third world companies to sell crap to poor people though manipulative sales techniques.

    Cons

They care only about their bottom line. They cut every corner possible, including your hours/benefits, to maximize profits. If you're making record profits and exceed sales targets then there's no reason to cut hours.

    Advice to Management

It would be night if you cared more about how poor the poor are rather than how rich the rich are. Cutting full-time employee hours for 2 months after Christmas is unreasonable, it's winter and people need to heat their homes.
