Pros

Advancement Opportunities, if you work hard and maintain a positive attitude their is not limit to how high up you can go. They will train you for everything you need to succeed. Stability of being with the largest retailer in the world.

Cons

Having to work on the Major holidays is difficult, however I knew this was part of the job when I signed on.

Advice to Management

Always remember your roots.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay more than most retail locations
    Flexible Hours
    Cross trained for most departments
    There is room for advancement
Most jobs there are not that difficult.

    Cons

    Hours are always being cut
Benefits are confusing and take a while to get
Managers are always changing. Either store or assistants.
    They have a high turnover
Customers Complain about every little thing

    Advice to Management

Promote more from within. Stop giving managers departments that they know nothing about. Make the store more appealing for customers. Assign more people to the sales floor when needed. This could actually be a very enjoyable job if the company fixed some of it's flaws.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - A lot of the people I work with are willing to lend a hand when needed
    - The pay is better than nothing

    Cons

    - Store Manager doesn't listen to employees
    - Assistant Mangers move people constantly and have unrealistic expectations of floor crew
    - Will fire large amounts of people at a time and not replace them, increasing the strain on those left
    - Certain shifts are allowed to do little to nothing with no punishment
    - Policies are changed constantly and make things harder for employees
    - Customers are allowed to cheat policies but employees are blamed

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to your employees, they know the smaller details about the store
    - Stick to your policies, stop allowing customers to walk over your cashiers/stockers
-If you fire a group of people, hire new ones; we aren't machines and can only work so fast
