I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Once you get the culture it really is very easy to excel. Stay between the lines and be transparent when you mess up.

Cons

Can be a little confounding due to the size of bureaucracy and the shining happy people culture they encourage.

Advice to Management

Quit over-reacting to problems. Even and measured responses are needed.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very broad range of opportunities, growth linked to performance and capability to do more. Whilst many of the 2.3m people work in stores and do the important work to serve 200m customers each week, there are jobs from meteorologist to pilot that support the business to serve the customer.

    Cons

It is a big company and you can easily be just 1 of many, although it still does not feel as big as some of the large firms I have worked at previously. Can be very short term focussed and go ditch to ditch on strategy.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in thinking about how we will get to a future state.
