I worked at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You learn new and creative ways of dealing with constant problems. I got to know some truely great people.

    Cons

Lack of communication between mamagement and associates, Heavy workload, Lack of backbone from management, Rude and impatient customers, Lack of employees, Assigned job title is a suggestion not your actual job, Temperature controL issues, Walmart is more concerned with the care of stock holders and their own pockets and less about their customers and employees

    Advice to Management

Stand up for your emplyees more. If they turn a customer away for a valid reason, back them up. Knowingly letting customers return stolen products is dumb. Communicate with fellow managers and associates on a regular basis. Expect and require all employees to do their job. If they dont do what is expected, replace them. Eventually you will have a great team. Last; if you, as a manager, cannot preform your task, you need to step down or work on your skill sets.

I worked at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are usually willing to work around odd schedules. Some room for upward mobility. You can get benefits if you are hired full-time.

    Cons

It is very hard to get a full-time position and positions of power are usually held by men. Pay is not that great. You could not support a family on it. It can be stressful at times especially during the holidays. Hard work doesn't always seem appreciated.

    Advice to Management

    Share the wealth.
