I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

Pros

This company really cares about its' employees, is globally minded, encourages career and educational growth,

Cons

Sometimes customers are rude and you cannot take it personally. I do like the classes on handling difficult customers.

Advice to Management

Please hire full-time people.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I met some new friends

    Cons

You get paid horribly, there is almost zero chance of any sort of promotion (you get a small raise after working there for a year, after that you have to work as if you want to be a manager to get anything more), they expect hard work but there's no motivation for it due to horrible pay, bad healthcare, they don't want to work with you on a schedule if you have school or kids

    Advice to Management

Honestly the only thing that would make walmart worthwhile is to increase pay and give better healthcare, but that's never going to happen at this rate

I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It is a secure job with a set consistent full time schedule, benefits, decent pay after years of service/raises, and employee discounts online and in stores. Most hourly same level coworkers have laid back personalities and they make the job great. We are a small close knit group that looks out for one another. I'm a quiet person with high anxiety that prefers to work in a peaceful, quiet environment away from chaos so this job is perfect for me.

    Cons

Low pay to start for the crazy amount of work they expect. Some customers come in under the influence of something and behave erratically. There is a lot of unproductive coworkers and the ones that do their job very well end up picking up their slack at the end of the night. Stockers (all shifts) plugging shelves with wrong products creates a lot of wrong pick exceptions and they make the backroom process more difficult. Some unfriendly and hard to approach overnight managers.

    Advice to Management

There are many people who want to work. Please weed out the ones that are only there to collect a paycheck.
