I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

good pay. work with great people
Insurance is available to everyone - health, dental, vision.

    Cons

New associates are usually hired in as orderfillers, unless they transfer from store.
Only the Tuesday - Friday shift can get 40 hours. - weekend shift(Saturday - Monday) get scheduled for 33 or 36.
Production goals are unrealistic - a lot of new associates become discouraged and quit within a short time.
Insurance is terrible - in order to afford it most people choose a deductible of $5500.00
Hours are not guaranteed - during times of low volume you may only work around 26 hours a week ... or less.
No possibility of advancement - most people were able to become supervisors to gain management experience they needed to become managers. We no longer have supervisors, so there is no way for associates to gain the management experience they need to apply for a manager position.
