I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Love the NWA area. Both Company and Community are very family friendly. The pay isn't bad when you factor in the cost of living for the area.

Cons

Poor managment. I've rarely felt micro managed, but I've also rarely felt managed. Yearly evals are a joke. There's very little motivation to push yourself except for personal growth and career development. ISD is ran by third-parties.

Advice to Management

There are three things that are currently driving me away from ISD...
   1. Middle Management (not sure what value they provide for the company)
   2. Third-parties and outsourcing everything
   3. Seeing people above me that know less and do less

I have been working at Walmart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibliity in hours is great.

    Cons

Inadequacy of supervisors. They lack supervisory skills.

    Advice to Management

Ensure your supervisors are actually being supervisors. They need to greet and train new employees; not ignore them because they are spending more time being worker bees than they are in being supervisors.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Luckily I was hired when there were a few more perks, less wait for insurance. Not a bad company if you NEED a job.

    Cons

Insufficient training, no opportunity for advancement, as your salary increases over years they become more critical of your performance, almost like they are looking for a reason to fire you and hire someone for less money. Many have jumped ship and found other jobs. Very hard work, no appreciation from most managers, not all..

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your workers more, give them attention and a chance for advancement, no matter their age. You are one of the largest employers but very stingy.
