I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Awesome culture, honesty and integrity at all levels

Cons

Low cost working environment, no frills, no windows, and drab blue cubicles.
Bonuses rarely top 60% of total bonus target.

Advice to Management

Update environment and do more to make bonuses more impact full.

I have been working at Walmart part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The discount was nice to have, they are very flexible with scheduling when you first get hired.

    Cons

There is a LOT of blatant favoritism. It doesn't matter if a person is very qualified and shows heavy interest, upper management always know who they're going to choose for promotions. Full time is a joke for anyone who isn't salaried management or hasn't been there for more than ten years. Management will tell you to do one thing then berate you and make you look like an idiot when you try to follow through in front of customers. Management will also try to train you in many different jobs that are usually above your pay grade and expect you to do a higher-paying job for your normal salary. The stores are always understaffed and you will be forced to leave earlier than scheduled on a regular basis to cut back on payroll. Overall, a pretty awful place.

    Advice to Management

Schedule some more people, look at who is QUALIFIED and NOT at who is your friend, and stand up for your employees every once in awhile. The customer is NOT always right. Offer a small raise for people who learn to do jobs outside of their department or additional, higher grade jobs inside of their departments.

    Pros

Really nothing good to say about it. Just horrible company to work for.

    Cons

Low pay, no hours, and terrible corporate management.

    Advice to Management

Get back to Sam's way of taking care of the associates!
