I worked at Walmart part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most Wal-Marts are not too shy about giving out hours. The discount on selected merchandise is appreciated. Also, if you love interacting with lots of people on a daily basis, you've got plenty opportunities for that on the sales floor at Wal-Mart.

    Cons

For such a large employer, some areas in the store can become quite understaffed and this puts a lot of pressure on associates who have to scramble to pick up the slack. Hard work is not rewarded as frequently as it should be, and this discourages top performance from associates.

    Advice to Management

Never forget that your sales associates are the think tank and the backbone of each store. Without happy and motivated sales associates, the store will suffer tremendously in all areas.
