I have been working at Walmart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A pay check and some benefits.

    Cons

Management should add tasers and whips to their uniforms. The store 4615 treats employees like indentured slaves. They demonize employees and management puts associates under such scrutiny that it is obvious they are hoping to find a reason to exercise their oppressive power. I have never worked at a place and I don't believe all Wal-Marts are like this since talking to various employees at other Wal-Marts the 4615 store has a severe employee retention problem. Who wants to come to work and leave needing a drink to wash away all the abuse they endured mentally-not just physically. I used to not drink until working at Wal-Mart or this Wal-Mart.

    Advice to Management

Put your management under scrutiny and listen to employees. Go undercover as an employee at this 4615 store. Trust me the abuse of power there is unbelievable. There is one female support manager that is constantly stirring the pot and another support manager said this female should have retired a long time ago as she actually hates the associates and she has been given carte blanche to do what she wants with employees which certainly crosses the professional lines of the position she has been given. Productivity, loyalty and morale is being destroyed at the hands of this female support manager.

    Pros

Plenty of advancement opportunities and you work with great people. You can truly get out of it what you put in it.

    Cons

As with most retailers, holidays are difficult on families. Seasons go buy quick and you seem to be playing from behind.

    Advice to Management

We may be able to do more to connect with the communities within the store and in turn connect better within the stores from employee level. It has become more business than family, and there is some disconnect with the communities.
