I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

I could not have started my career at a better company. I was allowed to carve out my own career path with the support of great mentors and coaches. If you are a self-starter and willing to take on bigger responsibilities there are opportunities worldwide. You are allowed to take risks as long as you have a "Plan B" as backup. The combination of pay and benefits was just above market for the area I was working. The Compnay treats employees who travel a lot for business really nice. Love the Mouse

Cons

If you want to advance, you have to live for the job.

Advice to Management

Keep looking forward, don't get sucked into repeating the 80's

I worked at Walt Disney Company as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

For permanent employees there are great benefits including discounts to merchandise and theme parks. Also, great educational reimbursement program.

    Cons

The studio heavily values MBA grads. They still have a challenge in recruiting Diverse talent. Very top (executive) heavy and bottom heavy with minimal growth opportunities toward the mid level.

    Advice to Management

It may be a good idea to not rely too heavily on MBA and Generation Y talent. There is a lot of great talent that you may be overlooking because they do not necessarily fit that mold.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are very patient and friendly when you are first learning how to do the job. It's the "pixie dust" - everyone's very cheerful and helpful, while at the same time very talented at what they do.

    Cons

Hard to move up in the system. From what I hear, they keep many employees as part-time and don't hire them full-time.
