I have been working at Warby Parker full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Open and collaborative enviroment
Team oriented
Much more transparent than other companies
Socially Concious (not just for the enviroment but for its own employees also)
Passionate fun and enthusiastic employees
People may argue but its healthy argument always for the betterment of the company
Decent fringe benefits (lunch catered 3x a week, cell phone stipend, gym membership)
Heavy promotion from within which shows loyalty back to employees
Good mentoring and leadership development opportunities
You can go beyond your assigned job and branch out into other roles that interest you

Cons

Going through heavy growth whcih gives off the perception of chaos at times
Office space needs to be enhanced heavily. It seems to be a secondary issue but should be more important
Noise is heavy as a call center lives in the front room
Sometimes it can feel frustrating that problems are not solved more quickly, especially as new features and products are still being rolled out before fixing the past issues
Reviews can be better (just up and down could be peer based as well). Hard to determine how raises etc are done as there are not always clear goals defined
Can work long hours at times

Advice to Management

Solid company overall but be more conscious of employee comfort. Raises and comp should be better addressed and at least streamlined. Reviews are haphazard. Provide some sort of solution to the noise and office space!

    I have been working at Warby Parker (More than a year)

    Pros

    Warby Parker has an amazing company culture. I've worked at their headquarters for the past two years, and I made some amazing friends there. We had quarterly outings, a fully stocked kitchen with snacks, catered dinners every single night of the week if you worked on the night shift, weekly bagel catering, cold brew once a week, and there's usually a ping pong game being played in the office throughout the day. I just transferred to the LA market and switched to retail, but the people are still amazing, and the job itself is always rewarding. I've had other retail jobs before that were awful, but working with optics requires greater knowledge, personal styling capabilities, and it ends up being much more interesting and valued. You also get great benefits like a monthly gym stipend, and health insurance.

    Low pay-- and really that's it

    Great Discount, decent start pay, fun work environment.

    Cons

    No set raise structure. Very little internal movement.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to concerns of employees and do more internal hiring from retail stores.
