I worked at Warner Bros. full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

WB included some fun extras such as employee screenings, a holiday schedule that often included extra days days off and discounts on a wide variety of products and services, on and off the lot. The majority of emploees I encountered while working at WB were friendly, professional and helpful, creating a very congenial atmosphere.

    Cons

Some "cost saving" procedures end up having the opposite effect. Too many people sharing the same printer resulted in loss of time (looking for print jobs that were mistakenly picked up with someone else's and not discovered in time to avoid having to be reprinted) and material (a lead sheet between each print job to indicate who's printing followed wasted paper and toner). Insufficent number of fileroom staff caused lost time - paperwork to be filed hangs in "limbo" until the file is created resulting in misplaced documents and correspondence or filing of same multiple times. Also, starting salaries are perhaps average but an anticipated annual increase of (at most) 3% makes keeping pace with inflation impossible.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps a review of some operating policies could result in an adjustment of recources to maximize efficiency without increasing costs significantly.

I worked at Warner Bros. full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent growth opportunities due to size of the company and the various divisions and departments you can transfer to. The company culture is family like, and I have made friends for a lifetime there. The technology is great, and internal support is present. Daycare center on-site at the Warner Bros. Ranch, which both of my kids went through until they entered kindergarten. Excellent benefits including medical, 401k, and paid time off.

    Cons

The management at the top is that of a boys club. Can be hard for a woman to break through. Long hours are typically expected, as in 9am-7pm, or later, with many managers expecting you to stay as long as they are in their offices. The work-life balance can be difficult if you have small children. Daycare closes at 7pm.
